Who I am

I'm 58 years old, and born in a small town (at that time) in northern California.

I graduated in the high school of that town.

Yes, this will be my 40th anniversary of graduating high school.

Living in a small town brings a sense of home to me.

I've been married for 36 years to my beautiful wife (she is a vegetarian and loves her Chihuahuas).

I love living in Lakeport.

Where else can you live next to a lake, have a race track, and county fair?

Plus just outside of town you have kart racing, hills to explore, Frisbee golf, and a drive-in movie.

Just a little further is the ocean and mountains to snow ski on.

I plan on living the rest of my life in Lakeport.

I started my career with Pacific Telephone and Telegraph as a telephone operator in Willows, California.

Working up the corporate ladder thru Pacific Bell, SBC and then at&t, I retired a second level manager with 31 years in 2007.

While working full time I completed my education earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science.

I was responsible for a sub system on at&t's main frame computer called CICS nationwide.  I was also responsible for the disaster recovery plan of this system.

I was a member of numerous committees, chairing the SBC national CICS users group.

While working for Pacific Bell I developed a process saving millions of dollars.

I received numerous accommodations and awards during my career.

I was the co-developer/designer for Pacific Bell's software called PBCF. This software was sold worldwide to other telphone companies.  I received the opportunity to travel to these companies nationwide and Italy to train their staff.

I am currently working for the County of Lake as a computer programmer/analyst.

I accepted this job in 2007 after retiring from at&t (so I guess you could say I never retired).

After working in the corporate world I feel it's time to work on my personal life.

I'd like to become more a part of my community so I'm taking steps to do that.

I feel when I truly retire I would like to drive a school bus.

Yes, I have been told that I am crazy!

But some of my fondest memories was riding the number "7" bus to school.

I completed the training, currently holding a school bus driver's licence.

Another avenue to get involved is running for Lakeport City Council.

I believe I could bring an important fresh look to the issues from my past experience, common sense,  logical thinking, high morals, and integrity, and help guide the city thru these tough times .

I have attended as many Council meetings as I could to understand issues facing Lakeport.

Some are :

Budget

Measure I spending

Roads

Increase Public waterfront access

Safety

Youth and elderly

Low income housing

Dutch Harbor

City workers medical

Encouraging businesses for success

Bringing in more tourism thru festivals and events

Annexation

Westside park

Cristallago (how it would inpact infrastructure)

Environmental issues (lake weeds, algae, mussels, and more)

This list is not prioritized, but the budget needs to come first.

No money means no improvements for the Citizens.

I believe creativeness can resolve issues, benefit and protect all the Citizens of Lakeport.

I have no hidden agendas and will work only for all the Citizens of Lakeport, by listening to them and encouraging their input, planning for them, and acting for them.

Thank you for your time.
